In the studio
The work begins with restraint. A single figure, a lamp, a bird crossing an open field of blue — the subject is given room rather than explanation, and the paper is allowed to remain paper.
Devotional subjects sit beside domestic ones without hierarchy. A chai glass and a dancing Nataraja are painted with the same attention: line first, colour only where it carries meaning.
